Pau Li Liem is a singer and composer whose music explores intimacy, imagination and human connection. Her compositions create space for personal expression, intuitive interplay and shared moments between musicians and audience.
Together with pianist Harmen Fraanje and drummer/percussionist Pascal Vermeer, she recorded her debut album No One Knows (2024), which was nominated for the Edison Award ‘Newcomer’. The trio creates a rich sound world in which Fraanje’s sense for melody, space and harmony, Vermeer’s subtle and dynamic approach, and Pau Li’s atmospheric vocals naturally come together.
Their music moves between carefully shaped compositions, improvised soundscapes, intimate moments and expressive improvisations. With the addition of renowned Swedish cellist Svante Henryson, the ensemble expands into a new international quartet. His distinctive sound and background in both Scandinavian music and improvisation add new colours and depth to the group’s organic sound world.
