Welcome to the store. Here you will find digital scores of Harmen’s compositions, notated as he plays them on his recordings. The collection is growing — new scores are added regularly. Harmen writes music for his own projects as well as on commission. Together with Ernst Reijseger, he has contributed as a performer and increasingly as a composer to the music of ten films by acclaimed filmmaker Werner Herzog.
Coming soon: studies and practice material for pianists, from conservatory entry level to advanced. They draw on Harmen’s daily teaching practice as Chair of the Jazz Piano Department at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, internationally recognized as one of the world’s leading institutions for jazz education, and as a regular faculty member of the Siena Jazz Workshop in Italy.

I regularly get asked for private lessons outside the conservatory. With my touring schedule, ongoing teaching simply isn't possible — so this is what I can offer instead: send me a recording of your playing, and you'll receive a short, clear email back with concrete feedback: what to work on, and how. No vague compliments — practical directions you can take straight to the piano.
