Harmen Fraanje is a pianist and composer from the Netherlands. He leads and co-leads several projects — including the long-standing trio Reijseger Fraanje Sylla and a duo with Norwegian trumpeter Arve Henriksen — and performs at festivals and concert venues around the world. He has recorded for leading labels including ECM Records, Winter & Winter, Outhere Music and NXN Recordings. Together with cellist Ernst Reijseger he has contributed to numerous films by Werner Herzog. Harmen is chairman of the Jazz Piano Faculty at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
